Our Values
Munywoki CPA (simplified pronunciation: MOON-YO-KEE) is a small CPA firm serving individuals and small businesses in Denton, Dallas, Fort Worth, and the Metroplex. We provide quality accounting, tax, and advising services in a fair manner that respects everyone’s bottom line – both yours and ours. It sounds old-fashioned, but we believe in the Golden Rule: “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. We all seek value as customers, so shouldn’t we provide it as business owners?
Affordability & Virtual Office
According to the National Society of Accountants’ 2020-2021 Survey Report, accounting firms devote roughly 10% of their expenses to occupancy (rent/mortgage/utilities).
Munywoki CPA operates as a virtual office, meaning we pass that 10% savings on to you – the customer. This means we:
- run a (mostly) paperless office
- have flexible meeting times
- can serve a wider geographic area, while saving you a drive
- can meet you in your PJs (yay Covid cliches!)
Of course, we can still meet in person if you prefer, within the Denton area.

We want good relationships with our clients, and we believe communication is key to a good relationship. We don’t believe in nickel-and-diming you for basic communication.

michael K. munywoki, cpa, cma
Michael K. Munywoki is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant with experience in small business, government, higher ed, and nonprofits. A north Texas native, he graduated from the University of North Texas with a Double Major Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Operations/Supply Chain Management.
After tasting the sweet nectar of accounting, he completed additional upper-level accounting coursework and pursued his CPA license and CMA certification. This unique path provides him with a viewpoint beyond the ledger that helps him understand the real-time, operational side to small business.
In his free time, Michael also volunteers for nonprofits in his community, both as Treasurer for Denton Community Youth Choirs, and as Board Member/Accountant for Denton’s community radio station KUZU 92.9 FM. He enjoys music, reading, and spending time with his family and cats. He is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
